Final Portfolio Due for Seniors - Thursday May 9 to Monday May 13

For your final work you will create a blog post with the 4 (minimum) projects you completed this semester.

Each project must address all of the questions in the Project Planning form and documentation of your  creative process in a Powerpoint or Blog post...or a similar electronic format of your choice.

You will submit a portfolio of your projects, planning forms and Process Portfolio along with a 400 word Artist Statement about your work.

The following link is a good resource for writing your Artist Statement.

It addresses the Why, the What, and the How of  your work.

Here is an example of a good statement.

Project 4 - Due May 9

Today you should be working on Project 4.

As in our previous projects, you should post a written project proposal based on the Process Portfolio rubric above.

Today as you start work on Project 4, think about and be ready to answer the following:

  • Are you going to continue with the same theme, medium, or techniques?
  • How has the experience of the first two projects affected your decisions for your next work?
  • Are you improving as you work? Staying still, going backwards?

Steal Like an Artist - Blog Post and Questions - Due April 4

This morning we watched a Google Talk by the writer Austion Kleon.

Click on this link to find the video

I asked you to take notes on the main ideas and artists that he talked about. This is a required blog post.

Next, I would like you to think about how this may apply to your artistic life.

Answer the following:

1. What is one of the concepts that appeal to you and why? Be specific and apply it to the current work your are doing.

2. How are you using Good or Bad theft? Choose a few of the concepts and relate it to the work you are doing, or even work you have done in the past. Be specific about this by relating it to art that you have made.

Project 3 Due - Monday April 8

You should be starting Project 3 today. We will spend the month of March and the first week of April to work on it.

Consider these questions...
  • Is project 2 complete? If not, will you begin Project 3 and finish Project 2 later?
  • How did the experience of your first project make you  feel? Do you want to continue with the same mediums or try something new?
  • What did you do well in project 2? What will you improve in Project 3?

You should always begin a new project by clicking on the Process Portfolio Guide above and answering ALL of the questions. Post the answers to your blog this week.
